Açılış konuşmasını yapan MYO Koordinatörü Prof. Dr. Nazım Elmas, “Bilgiye giden yolda en önemli kurum olan üniversiteler araştırmalarını insanların ihtiyacı olan alanlarda kullanıma sunmak durumundadır. Elde edilen bilimsel sonuçları ilgili kurum ve kuruluşlarla paylaşıp teoriden pratiğe geçen bir anlayışı sergilemek durumundandır. Ülkemizde birçok alanda çalışmalar yapılıyor, teknolojik gelişmeler ortaya çıkılıyor. Bu bağlamda Giresun Üniversitemizinde bölgesel olarak yapması gerekenleri öne çıkaran çalışmalar içinde olduğunu sunmak istiyorum. Daha geçen haftalar içerisinde üniversitemiz teknik elemanlarıyla, makine mühendisleriyle ve makine mühendisliği öğretim elemanlarıyla sanayideki iş adamlarımızı bir araya getirip eğimli arazide makineli tarım nasıl olabilir buna ait bir çalışmamızı Giresun Organize Sanayi Bölgesinde gerçekleştirdik. Ayrıca öğrencilerimizin teorik bilgilerini pratiğe aktarabilmeleri kapsamında bu istihdam şenliğimiz içerisinde öğrencilerimizin hazırladıkları projeler var. Onların hayalleriyle iş adamlarımızın beklentilerini buluşturduğumuz bir proje yarışmasını uyguladık. Yirmi iki projemiz bu yarışmaya katıldı. Geçen yıl ilkini gerçekleştirdiğimiz istihdam şenliği fuarımızda biz aynı zamanda iş adamlarımızın aynı zamanda Giresun Üniversitesiyle işbirliği içerisinde olmasını da arzu etmiştik. Bu kapsamda iş adamımız Metin Koç üniversitemize 400.000′ i aşkın bir miktarda makine teçhizat ve bunların konulduğu binaları yaparak üniversitemize büyük bir destek verdi. Teşekkür ediyoruz” dedi. Elmas, şenlik boyunca iş adamlarının ve öğrencilerin nelerden yararlanabileceği konularına da kısaca yer vererek mikrofonu Giresun Çalışma ve İş Kurumu Müdürü Mustafa Sarı’ ya devretti.

Programın devamında konuşmasını gerçekleştirmek üzere sahneye çıkan Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası Başkanı Hasan Çakırmelikoğlu; girişimcinin eşittir risk alan kişi olduğunu söyleyerek öğrencilere risk almanın öneminden bahsederken, etkinlikte yer alan bir diğer önemli isim İŞKUR Genel Müdürlüğü İstihdam Daire Başkan Vekili Ekrem Kayacı; ekonomik istihdamdaki büyüme oranlarına, yıllara göre istatiksel verilere ve yürüttükleri çalışmaları anlatarak katılımcıları bilgilendirmesiyle Rektör Prof. Dr. Cevdet Coşkun kariyer günleri kapsamında konuşmak üzere kürsüde yerini aldı.

Coşkun, temel amaçlarının öğrencilerin iş adamlarıyla buluşmalarını sağlamak olduğunu ve öğrencilerinden de bu buluşmadan kazanımlar elde edeceğini , özel sektör ve devletin fikri olanlara çok ciddi teşvikler sağladığını söyleyerek öğrencilerin iş arayan değil, iş bulan değil, iş kuran mezunlar olarak ayrılmalarını temenni ettiklerinin önemini belirtirken, iş adamlarından da mezun olan bireyler için destek beklediklerini ifade etti. “Geçen sene yapmış olduğumuz 1. İstihdam ve Tanıtım Fuarında Giresun’ lu iş adamlarımızdan Sayın Metin Koç, bu konuda öncülük yaparak, Teknik Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulumuz bünyesinde ekonomik değeri yüksek ve önemli bir mesleki eğitim ünitesi kurma sözü verdi ve bu geçen bir yıl içerisinde sözünü tuttu ve bize bugün Teknik Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulu kampüsünde binasıyla birlikte çok kıymetli bir mesleki eğitim ünitesi kazandırdı.
